Just last two months, the International Tennis Federation announced that a major overhaul of the 18-nation World Cup of Tennis is coming. Australia has won the Davis Cup 28 times and finished as runners-up 19 times. The current Davis Cup title holder is Croatia. They beat France to win the title in 2018. The changes came as a result of the new 25-year partnership worth $3 billion with the investment group Kosmos. The organizers hope that this new transformation will generate substantial revenues for global tennis development. Kosmos Investment Group is founded by Spain and FC Barcelona football star, Gerard Piqué. The group receives substantial financial support from the Chairman and CEO of Rakuten, Hiroshi Mikitani.
