Should judges making custody decisions by listening to the kids? These days this is a hot subject in Household Law. Years ago the response to the concern was an emphatic "no". Children were undependable witnesses, they did unknown what benefited themselves, and they would be distressed forever by being asked to select one parent over the other. Furthermore, they would determine that they remained in a position to control the result, which would turn the parent-child relationship upside down.
